Medical Device Networking Fundamentals

MDC 101 provides a comprehensive introduction to networking concepts specifically tailored for medical devices and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environment. Students will explore network topologies, protocols, and communication methods vital for healthcare systems. The curriculum emphasizes data flow, security considerations, and best practices for device connectivity within regulated environments. Practical hands-on labs reinforce theoretical knowledge, enabling students to identify network components, analyze traffic, and troubleshoot common issues. By the end of this course, students will possess a strong understanding of medical device networking fundamentals, preparing them for advanced cybersecurity challenges and contributing to patient safety through secure connectivity.
